Hmm...I'm thinking of putting up Emile as a VOID 'fighter' so Paolo can have a roommate who won't turn him in to the cops. Also, think of the dynamics of that relationship. Nothing is more hilarious than the awkward relationship shared between two hateful Europeans. Once I'm finished up with the Lina vs. Paolo fight, I'll post up some comic pages with my two bogeyman thieves stealing stuff and getting in trouble with the mafia, which is one of the spastic subplots of my comic's first chapter.

Ah, and here's a brief bit about Emile...

I think I mentioned that he has a family, but he pretty much hates them as much as they hate him, and they only get together during family reunions and a few awkward Christmas vacations per decade. Emile's the oldest of four kids and the only guy (poor bastard). His three sisters, Amelie, Elise, and Adele, are all taller than him and armed with acerbic wits and cruelly efficient comic timing. He is, unbelievably, the 'nice' one in his family. The Cadavres are one of those parasitic social-climbing (clambering?) phantasm families that too closely mirror their human counterparts. They work very, very hard to appear respectable at the cost of normal family values like...oh, I dunno...compassion, understanding, and basic decency. Emile's parents were verbally abusive in a deceptively elegant way, using their sophisticated wits to lash out at whatever bogeyman/child/pet/inanimate object offended them. Emile's family members are so clever with word play that they can insult you and you'll thank them for it and meekly walk away. Not surprisingly, Emile was a pretty darn bitter little kid. He and his sisters were all born within a four and a half year span, but are not close at all. Since Emile was the smallest and the only boy, his sisters frequently used him as entertainment, which he quickly grew to resent. All of his sisters work in the Department of Sneaking and Spying and have recently done a fair bit of work for Lorenzo Vernedi, one of the most frighteing bogeymen Figment City has in its employ. This makes Emile dislike them even more, if possible, since he absolutely, totally, sincerely hates both Vernedi brothers with all the strength he has to muster. His sisters in turn, think that their thieving brother has disgraced the family name and would love a legal excuse to ruin his life. After the last family reunion, during which his father accused him of being a thief, made fun of his fedora-wearing ways, and alerted the cops to his presence, Emile has come to realize that he is in fact the 'black sheep' of the family and should probably change his last name for safety reasons. Poor Emile. He acts so sophisticated and nonchalant, but he's secretly terrified of his younger sisters. haha
